It’s the day of the biggest football game in America and most of us will find ourselves surrounded by friends, family, or even random people we don’t know to watch two rival teams have it out on the big screen. Whether you are there to cheer on your favorite team, to simply enjoy the company of others, or just to watch the crazy, new commercials, there is no doubt you are also there to enjoy the vast amounts of food that will be present.

When it comes to food, think snacks. Every good Super Bowl party is known for its wonderful snack food. Snacks are easy to make and if they get spilled during a great play, they are easy to clean up. Consider foods like nachos, pizza, chicken wings or meatballs… your guests want something they can pop in their mouths and stay in the spirit of the game. If you serve foods like chili or something else that needs a plate or bowl, be prepared in case it gets spilled. Serve up your buffet using platters and crock pots to keep the food ready at hand.

Most of these appetizers you can make ahead of time and simply heat them up as you need them. Having enough drinks on hand is important also. Remember, not everyone drinks alcohol, so make sure you have plenty of non-alcoholic beverages like sparkling cider, soda, lemonade, tea, coffee, and sparkling water available. If kids are going to be present, juice boxes always work well. Just show them where they can dispose of the empty boxes and your clean up is partially done!

Don’t forget that some people don’t come to Super Bowl parties to watch football. Noooooo, they come for the food and the betting, the camaraderie and of course, more food… So, be prepared to serve up a feast of Super Bowl snacks, nibbles and appetizers. It’s not as hard as it sounds, but having a variety to choose from will work well in almost any household.
